The book collects the outcomes of research on the development of ICTs – Information and Communication Technologies in relation to the urban environment. In particular, this study addressed the innovations introduced by the new technologies in urban planning and the urban models. The publication describes these changes in three sections: the first is dedicated to the development of digital networks and related territorial transformation, the second to the innovation of planning in relation to ICTs development, the third to the possible cities and territories of the future. A critical perspective by the Senseable City Lab, MIT – Massachusetts Institute of Technology, can be finally found in the appendix.
