Sun Life is one of the Italian projects funded by the LIFE + Nature & Biodiversity program of the European Community for implementing biodiversity policies and the Natura 2000 Network. The book describes the two phases of this research. Within the first, analysis was developed on the conservation of species and ecological habitats, the synergies or interferences of different levels of territorial governance, and the state of the art of ecosystem services. Then, the second phase included drafting a financial plan for the pertinent targets established by the European Community, developing related guidelines for farmers, foresters, and green professions, but also defining necessary sub-projects and a strategy for the management of the Natura 2000 Network in Umbria region, Italy.
