Born in Genoa, 1960. Is full Professor of Town Planning at G. d’Annunzio University of Chieti-Pescara, Italy. After graduating in architecture (1986) he has worked for a decade with Bruno Gabrielli. His professional experiences include the Master Plan of Piacenza (1992), Pisa (1993), Paternò (1995), Parma (1996), Ragusa (1997), and several projects and advice throughout the national territory. He was City Manager of the municipality of Parma (1996-98). He was Visiting Scholar at Tonji University, Shanghai (1991) and PHD student at the Waterloo University of Toronto (1994). His research focuses on the theme of innovation planning tools to urban and territorial scale, with particular attention to the development of digital networks. On these themes he has published five monographic books in Italian and English and over eighty scientific publications worldwide. It is currently a member of: the Technical Committee Organizer of the Telematics University Leonardo da Vinci, the Board of Directors of the University G. D’Annunzio, and the Governing Council of the Italian Society of Planners (SIU).
