Anna-Paola Pola is Architect and PhD in Urban Planning. She studied in Venice, Delft and Milan. At the moment she is Director Urban Planner and Research Fellow at WHITRAP, the World Heritage Institute of Training and Research in the Asia-Pacific Region under the auspicies of UNESCO, based at Tongji University in Shanghai. Her main research interests are in urban preservation and sustainable development, with a particular focus on China’s small settlements. She curated the Extra-European section of the exhibition “Exporting the Historic Urban Core” for the Triennale di Milano (2015) and is a member of the editorial board of The Journal of Built Heritage (Shanghai).
