Description
This issue of diid proposes an articulated reflection on the processes of “addition” and “subtraction” of values, meanings, signs, information, languages, functions, materials, technologies, skills, and visions. The various contributions propose design scenarios within the proposed theme, associating this with aspects of contemporaneity when the material and the immaterial are reflected in the evolution of digital technologies on the one hand and in the centrality of the user experience on the other. In particular, subtraction is understood as a replacement, where the digital element is prevalent; addition as an assumption of responsibility and expansion of the fields of interest of design.
