The book takes the island as the loci through which to describe, measure, and interpret today’s spatial changes based on the belief that islands are a hot spot for territorial transformation. In fact, they are characterized by a compelling need to ponder sensitive contexts and recognize how even a limited expanse of land must consider a universal representation of the world. In other words, this publication is the first step into the construction of an anthropologic-architectural taxonomy of the islands, in which these are considered as sensors of historical change.
