Marichela Sepe

Is with the Italian National Research Council in Naples (, where since 2001 she is a researcher. Since 2009 she is with the IRISS of Naples of the Italian C.N.R.. Since 2003, she is also with the DiARC of the University of Naples. She is in the Research Doctorate Committee in Urban Design and Planning and Contract Professor of the University of Naples Federico II. In 2013 she has been visiting Professor in the Peking University and held lectures in the Peking, Wuhan and Xi’an Universities. She is expert in: urban landscape analysis and planning; urban design; public space; multimedia software; creative urban regeneration; cultural heritage enhancement. In 2014 she won: the Ardito-Desio award for the paper presented at Ipsapa 2014 Conference; the Urban Planning Literature Award of INU with the monagraphy Planning and Place in the City Mapping Place Identity, Routledge. Drs Sepe is Vice President of INU, Urban Planning Italian National Institute Campania section, co-organiser of the 2011 and 2013 Biennials on Public Space and is co-steereing the process leading to the adoption of the “Charter of Public Space”.
