Educated at Politecnico di Milano and ETSAM in Madrid, she graduated in Architecture with the final thesis ‘Planning Strategies in a State of Exception’, a research and design work based on Deheishe Refugee Camp – West Bank, reflecting on the role of the architect within the scenario of refugee camps, spaces of social invention and spatial transformations.
The work opens a research interest into the contemporary conditions of urban crisis and in the potential of the visualization to interpret the complexity of the evolving transformation dynamics. In 2008, she took part in the international research project ‘Decolonizing Architecture’ and worked for its first exhibition ‘Design by Destruction: Oush Grab Military Base’ at Bozar, Bruxelles in November 2008. The work has been also displayed in various International Architectural Exhibitions, such as at Venice Biennal 2008, COAC Barcelona 2009, Istanbul Biennial 2009, Rotterdam Biennial 2009 and Edinburgh Art Festival 2010.
As architect, she has collaborated with several studios in Italy and in Spain. Since 2009 she has been assistant professor at Politecnico di Milano and she’s currently course leader of the Master in Interior and Living Design at Domus Academy in Milan. She has taken part into several international workshops and seminars, focusing on the new scenarios of urban development.
In addition to her main academic involvement, she also carries on the professional practice at KICK.OFFICE, the Milan-based studio she founded in 2009 with Mario Abruzzese.
