What is happening in the Alps today? Is there a new high-quality architecture, capable of being not only as traditional as it is innovative but also capable to stand up to the comparison with the Alpine landscape? Presenting the landscape plans of the Alpine regions, as well as various projects by famous architects of the region, e.g., Olgiati, Thun, Cecchetto, Riegler & Riewe, the book illustrates different positions and points of view on the theme of Alpine living. The publication collects the proceedings of the first ALPS – Alpine Landscape Project Sustainability Biennial, held in 2008 between Trento and Rovereto, Italy, and organized by the University and the Province of Trento. The book is accompanied by a DVD that contains the documentary Inside the landscape, the Alps, shot on the occasion of the Biennale.
