Maria Chiara Tosi

Maria Chiara Tosi graduated in 1991 from Iuav Istituto Universitario Architettura Venezia in Territorial and Urban Planning. Since 2014 she is a member of the Global Human Settlement Working Group (GHS WG) established at the European Commission Joint Research Center Ispra. Since 2013 she is responsible for the bilateral agreement between Iuav and the Department of Architecture, College of Engineering of Sungkyunkwan University Seoul-South Korea. He regularly participated in the final examination panel of the “Space Speculation” course at the Université libre de Bruxelles. Since 2006 she has been working on the physical dimension of welfare state policies and since 2017 she is the scientific responsible for the Iuav University of Venice of the convention “Gli standard urbanistici: radici, bilanci, prospettive” with Politecnico di Milano, Università RomaTre and Università di Trieste. Since 2020 she has been responsible for the CityLab research cluster at Iuav University of Venice; since 2013 she has been working on urbanisation processes in Megacities in China. Since 1991 she has worked continuously on the drafting of urban plans and projects for some Italian territories as a consultant and in 2014 she was an invited speaker at the “Global Human Settlement” Conference organized by the European Commission Joint Research Centre in Ispra, Italy with a paper entitled “Hidden-revealed, visible-invisible. City territory and the european urban policies”. In 2018 curator of the Venice Pavilion at the 16th Venice Architecture Biennale.
