The primary subject of Lawrence C. Davis’ research, practice, teaching, and writing examines various types of diffuse urbanization. For over two decades, he has taught at the Architecture School of Syracuse University in New York State, where he has been the undergraduate chair twice and director of the school’s program in Florence, Italy. He is a co-founder of City Scripts, an organization that examines the intersection of politics and the design of the built environment, which earned external funding from the Kresge Foundation, among other sources. His designs and writings have been published in both the disciplinary and popular press, including the Journal of Architectural Education, Architects Bulletin, Architecture Player, Architettura, and the Syracuse Post-Standard.
