Description

The fourth landscape refers to the fourth world (conflict), to the “fourth power” (mass media), and the fourth estate (militancy). Conflict as a driver of social and cultural innovation, to escape the “sad passions” (cf. M. Benasayag, 2008); communication as the condition of postmodern landscape, which is phenomenon and representation (cf. M. Jakob, 2009); militancy as action, which is the capacity to act suddenly and unexpectedly (h. Arendt, 1958). In this sense, the fourth landscape is, unlike the g. clément’s third landscape, a paradigm of action.
